Letter from Parliament
Dear [fill in the blank].
Thank you for your letter of [date] about [fill in the blank]. I can't be arsed to have an opinion, so I've sent it on to [the relevant Government Minister] who will have one of [his/her] civil servants draft a non-reply.
Yours, Tessa Jowell MP.

LOL!
arsed an opinion??????
Can you explain that? was it suppoed to say "asked" or is that a true phrase. American English is different..sometimes amazingly different....
Either way,,, neat to see a stamp from a different country.
Quite interesting.
in this sense: "can't be arsed" = "can't be bothered". meant to be satirical. our elected representative can't be bothered to have an opinion. she has to pass it on to someone else to get the official govternment line. that's democracy in action.
Thanks for the explanation!
I love learning new things.
I can't wait to try the saying on someone, LOL.
