Cholmley House - probably built with stones from the Abbey, not that I'm casting aspertions on Tykes. There was a rather grim Youth Hostel Association cafe round the back. But, seriously, a well presented exhibition on the history of the Abbey and the manor house by English Heritage.

Rather foolishly I left my Filofax personal organizer on the 77A bus yesterday. Realised it just as I got off. Chasing after the bus didn't help. However, a couple of hours later a phone call to the depot revealed that someone turned it in.

A trip to Stockwell depot this morning: minus my nice pen and pencil, I've got my life back.

Mr Blair returns from the Palace where he asked the head of state for permission to dissolve Parliament. In front of the country the Prime Minister announces a General Election on Thursday 5 May - 05/05/05, my birthday.

In his speech to the cameras, he touches all the hot issues - crime, education, immigration, health, pensions. But, no mention of the gravest threat to the country - global warming.
